Drive Fuze is an all-inclusive car subscription platform, aiming to revolutionise and eliminate the hassle of car ownership. They offer short-term car subscriptions, making it easy for customers to apply.
They partnered with Studio Graphene to design and develop a user-friendly customer-facing web platform, to streamline the car usership experience.
Our aim was to understand their objectives, both short and long-term business goals, product goals, and the key success criteria. Additionally, we delved into user types, revenue models, high-level technical requirements and identified any existing competitors they were aware of.
Studio Graphene started by conducting a comprehensive discovery phase, collaborating closely with the Drive Fuze team to gain valuable insights into their common challenges.
Our aim was to understand their objectives, both short and long-term business goals, product goals, and the key success criteria. Additionally, we delved into user types, revenue models, high-level technical requirements and identified any existing competitors they were aware of.
This exploration served as the foundation for adopting an agile design and development process, enabling us to tackle these challenges effectively and at pace. We proceeded by mapping out the entire customer journey, ensuring a seamless end-to-end experience for users.
Our core focus was on building a seamless user journey with various stages including:
vehicle search, selection, personal information input, onboarding, car delivery and ongoing support. Once mapped out, our attention turned to enabling effective management and support for Drive Fuze, which materialised in the form of the Admin portal.
We also successfully implemented the underlying logic that shaped the fleet management and data flow capabilities, bringing these crucial functionalities to life.
Working together in design sprints and having identified core functional areas, we created wireframes and high-fidelity designs. By establishing clear user stories, we were able to expedite the development process, enabling subsequent design work to run concurrently and accelerate the overall deployment timeline.
From a visual design perspective our aim was to create a visually distinct experience, and prioritise seamless navigation. We employed modern patterns and shapes to engage users and implemented a super-rich design system for efficiency and future scalability.
The technical approach posed several challenges we had to overcome due to the extensive number of integrations required and the overall complexity of the product. However we successfully implemented the following integrations: Onfido for ID and address verifications, Licencecheck for driving licence retrieval, and a third-party fleet management tool for vehicle oversight and telematics data. These integrations ensured accurate customer information, enhanced process efficiency, and enabled comprehensive vehicle management.

We successfully launched an MVP that not only met the client’s objectives within the original timeframe but also exceeded their performance expectations. Our partnership with Drive Fuze remains strong, and we have established a dedicated squad focused on UX improvements, design tweaks and various product enhancements. Our current focus is on optimising conversions and enhancing the overall product to provide an even better user experience.
